These Lion House Rolls are enriched with garlic and Parmesan, yielding pillowy buns with a savory, cheesy crust. Perfect alongside soups or holiday meals.

Ingredients

1 cup milk
0.25 cup butter
1 packet active dry yeast
0.25 cup sugar
1 tsp garlic powder
3 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp salt
1 large egg
2 tbsp butter, melted
0.25 cup Parmesan cheese, grated

Steps

  1. Warm milk and butter until about 110 F; whisk in yeast, sugar, and garlic powder; let foam 10 minutes.
  2. In a bowl, combine flour and salt; stir in yeast mixture and egg to form a soft dough.
  3. Knead on a floured surface 8 minutes until smooth; place in a greased bowl, cover, and rise until doubled, about 60 minutes.
  4. Punch down dough, divide into 12 pieces, shape into balls, and arrange in a greased 9×13 pan; let rise 20 minutes.
  5. Brush tops with garlic butter and sprinkle Parmesan.
  6. Bake at 375 F for 20 minutes until golden; serve warm.
